No, the policy won’t terminate if the payment is missed by the due date, but you will receive a letter stating the policy will terminate if the missed payment isn’t received by the date specified in the letter.    Most companies will give you plenty of time to get your payment in, the time varies from company to company.   Keep in mind, if you are late you will be charged a late fee.

If the late fee doesn’t bother you, then don’t sweat it.

What you don’t want to do is start paying a month late or the last day before termination every month.  Try to keep on top of your insurance payments and if you have a problem and your payment will be late contact your agent.

Your agent will know when your payment is due before cancellation takes place.
